((I'm sure most of you guys know, but Gen and Ash are both my characters, so I'm going to be replying to this only on Gen's account to make things easier. This is probably going to be a bit complicated, seeing as there are going to be quite a few characters here, but I couldn't really think of any other way to do this. Sorry. DX))
Ash was in a panic. She couldn't find Tristan. She'd been searching everywhere, calling out for him, but he was nowhere to be found at the little playground or the park surrounding it.
"Tristan!" she shouted once more. "Tristan, where are you?!"
She was about to break down when a woman's voice startled her.
"Ma'am," Genevieve said gently, not wanting to spook the poor woman. "Can I help you?"
Ash tried to keep her composure. "My son- godson- I can't find him anywhere. I was taking his jacket out of his bag, and when I looked up, he'd disappeared…"
The blonde pushed back thoughts of finding his little body bloodied and mutilated with some message of revenge for Eoin. The mental image made her sick.
"What does he look like?" Gen asked, her voice low and soothing. She knew what it was like having one's ward go missing.
"He's four, with red curly hair and green eyes and is yea tall," Ash explained quickly, holding her hand to about where the top of Tristan's head would be. Gen nodded.
"And his name is Tristan?"
"Yes," Ash said. She'd been scanning around the area the entire time. It was getting dark, and it was becoming harder to fight down the rising panic.
"Alright, here's what we'll do. I'll give you my mobile number, and you text me yours, and if either one of us finds him, we'll text the other. Okay?"
Ash nodded. "Y-yeah."
Gen recited her number, and Ash texted the woman hers. The older woman said, "I'm Gen, by the way."
"Ash."
"Okay, Ash, we're going to spli-"
At that moment, a dog began barking furiously. Gen's head snapped in that direction, and then she looked at Ash. "I think I know where your godson is. Follow me!"
She began sprinting towards the noise, and it was all Ash could do to keep up.
"What is it?" the blonde asked worriedly as they ran.
"That's my dog, Benvolio. He's trained to protect children. That's his danger bark- someone's in trouble."
"Oh god," Ash whispered, though she was thankful that she'd found Gen when she had- or rather, Gen had found her.
The two raced out of the park (they had already been rather close to the entrance) and into a nearby alley. Ash clamped her hands over her mouth to keep from crying out. Someone- their back was facing Ash and Gen, so it was difficult to pick out the gender- was holding a knife and poised to attack. However, a large German shepherd was standing between the attacker and a little boy, who was cowering behind the animal and sobbing. Benvolio had his teeth bared and was growling deep in the back of his throat. Gen motioned for Ash to back out of the alley, then charged the assailant and easily disarmed them. After a brief struggle, Gen eventually knocked them unconscious.
She took a look at the person's face and swallowed back a flash of anger. She'd seen this woman's face before- this bitch was a wanted criminal. She specialised in murdering innocent people, such as children, as payback for her employers. No wonder this woman had been so frightened. She obviously was aware that someone wanted to harm her godson.
Benvolio, satisfied his master had eliminated the threat, relaxed and turned around, licking the boy's face in an attempt to comfort him. Tristan wrapped his arms around the animal and sobbed into his fur. After Gen gave the signal that everything was under control, Ash entered the alleyway and knelt next to the boy and dog, gathering them both in a __ embrace.
"Tristan, baby, I'm so sorry!" the blonde apologised, trying not to sob. Tristan let go of the dog and wrapped his little arms around his godmother's neck, sobbing even harder. Ash stroked his hair and held him close, vowing she'd never let him out of her sight again. "I'm here now. Everything's going to be okay… we're going to be okay… I promise…"
The problem was, everything was not okay. Everything was far from okay. But she couldn't tell him that. It was her job to lie to him sometimes.
Gen gritted her teeth and debated- should she call Kev and Ben or Greg? After several seconds of debate, she decided to send a text to both.

Gen's face

Melissa Suzanne McBride (from The Walking Dead, among other things) looks pretty much like how I picture Gen Lestrade. I've never seen that show, but I saw a promo picture and thinking...
"Gen totally WOULD be a survivor in the zombie apocalypse."
((Back!))
((Back from my hiatus! I've missed you! *hugs*))
((Semi-hiatus))
((Hey, guys! I just wanted to let you know that I'll be in Okinawa from today until March 27th. I'm not sure how much internet access or even internet time I'll have, so I'm going on at least semi-hiutus until I'm back. Thanks for understanding!
I'll miss you all and try to take pictures if I can (or at least beg them off Saori, my second cousin). ;P
Hugs!
Dana))
Walking
Gen knew that she wouldn't be able to go far. She didn't know if she'd be able to go anywhere at all. But she didn't care. Today they were letting her get out of bed and start relearning how to walk. True, she'd need a walker, but she didn't care. The fact that she was going to start truly recovering made her excited. She was just waiting for Greg and Alex to get here so they could help. They promised that they'd be moral support.

(If you don't like this comment, I'll ignore this post, but what if Cara has Gregs phone? I dunno. XD She's known for helping out at the Yard. But if I'm being annoying and you dislike this, let me know.)
